Customer Appreciation Sale

I am grateful for the customer appreciation sale at the fabric store today.  I was able to purchase the "perfect" match silk fabric and two pieces for light coats.  Cobalt blue and White.  I especially was happy to see the shoppers buying the fabrics for presents.  Their delight in a good bargain was lovely to see, particularly the seniors buying quilting, baby and children's fabrics.   The creative side of life - we need it in this crazy world.

Entertainment in various forms :)

People magazine.  I don't read magazines usually, but with Johnny Depp on the cover as the Sexiest Man , I might be persuaded !  I do miss the gold overlays on his teeth he kept for filming Pirates 2 and 3.........

Reality shows - love love LOVE NBC's "The Biggest Loser".  Inspirational, it really is !  One contestant admitted that she has watched BL since it first began, and would sit and eat ice cream while agreeing that she should change.......she did by becoming a player instead of a watcher.  It is NEVER too late to take charge of your life and for that I am grateful too !

That's me, grateful for each day I can get up and see what the world is doing !  Enjoy your day all !

Talk About Gratitude...

On the beautiful island of Bali there is a ceremony for almost anything you can think of.  There is, for instance, a special day to show gratitude for and honor the METAL OBJECTS in your life.  Here is a post by a fellow blogger who showed her gratitude for the most important metal object in her life: Her motor bike.

Have a look at the great photo of what she did to her motor bike!

Blue skies !

I am very happy and grateful this morning for blue skies !  I woke to find only a bit of dampness outside from drizzle - the storm blew past :)  Whooo hoo !  Now I have one more day to do yard cleanup and write.

I am grateful to have attended the memorial tonight

Tonight was the candlelight vigil for the three men who died when our local lifeflight helicopter crashed early Saturday morning.  The vigil was held on the helipad at the hospital.  There were hundreds of people there - in the cold wind we stood, sad and strong.  I have never seen so many people in one place in this town. Some well prepared people knew how to keep the candles lit, but I had to give up.  We sang Amazing Grace.  The father of the flight nurse, the man who owned and ran the medical ambulance service spoke of his son.  Of his son's encouragement to him to open this air ambulance business. His unwavering support for his father, for the business, for the family.  It is not how these men died, it is how they lived that made them heroes.  This outfit flew my husband to various hospitals.  Mom and I were naming people who we knew were saved by the helicopter crew and lost count.  The number of lives they saved - their every day job. One crew member, the big tall blonde man named Chris helped my husband when he needed to be moved to their air gurney.  My husband could not move, was in such pain, and Chris carefully and gently picked up the weak frail body of my husband, and set him carefully on the gurney, got him tucked in and smiled the whole time. I thanked him, and he told me "that is one of the best parts of this job, seeing how what I do helps the patients - no problem :)"

I am grateful for being part of this small community - so many people turned out to show support, knowing what these men did on a daily basis, never took them for granted, and always appreciated what they did for the community. They have touched so many many lives. Thank you just does not feel adequate tonight.

Bless you Clint, Chris and James.

Godspeed

Grateful

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. Today is our 6th year Anniversary!(Although sometimes it feels like it's been longer! haha!) We have been through so much and although the journey hasn't been easy, it has been so worth it! He makes my heart smile and I would forever love him for that!
